By combining extensive collections of the "Union centrale des arts decoratifs" and the "Union Française des Arts du Costume" the museum's permanent collection explores major trends in fashion through the ages. Costumes from the 17th to l9th centuries, fashion accessories and rare fabric samples are on display, as are major contributions from 20th century haute couture artists and contemporary fashion designers.
The exhibition begins with the present day and travels backward through time. Articles on display altemate with pieces from the Museum's reserve, with a complete change according to themes choses ("geometry", "exoticism") twice yearly.

Exhibitions on a given theme will alternate with exhibitions of specific articles, in both cases accentuating a particular aspect in fashion or fabric design.

A documentation center is open to amateurs, researchers and professionals alike. It's role is to preserve and develop the wealth of information avaible to the public.
Open by appointment : 01 44 55 58 57; closed saturdays and sundays.
