Today, it is a social museum and is the only one of its kind to relate the history of parisian hospitals from the Middle Ages to modern days. Its history cannot be detached from that of the Capital City in which united the hospital to several organizations. |

The museum boasts over 5000 objects resulting from its scheme to conserve the heritage in the field of medicine. The various aspects of hospital life are illustrated through a variety of objects including furniture, medical and surgical instruments, pharmaceutical items, paintings, engravings, sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, medical papers and documents. As well as a permanent collection throughout the year, the museum also schedules a variety of temporary exhibitions. |
